Teamwork & Team Building: Build Stronger More Collaborative Teams

Teamwork is part of everyday life, and in the workplace, employees are often expected to function effectively as part of a performing team. A strong team can contribute to greater organizational success. Teamwork and Team Building helps participants understand the different aspects of teams and the factors that contribute to successful teams and team members. The course begins by defining a team and introducing Tuckman and Jensen's Four-Phase Model of team development. Participants will explore different types of teams, including traditional teams, self-directed teams, and e-teams. They will then examine each stage of team development: forming, storming, norming, and performing, with specific considerations for both leaders and followers at each stage. The course also covers team-building activities, including their benefits and disadvantages, selecting activities that participants can engage with comfortably, and choosing appropriate locations. Participants will learn how to make the most of team meetings through scheduling, the 50-minute meeting approach, and celebrations. The course concludes with team problem-solving through Six Thinking Hats, brainstorming, and consensus building, followed by practical approaches for encouraging teamwork.
