The course begins with verbal communication, including the difference between listening and hearing, asking questions, and communicating with power. Participants then explore non-verbal communication, body language, and the signals they send through how they communicate. The course moves into small talk and deeper conversation, including techniques for asking for examples, using repetition, asking summary questions, and seeking clarity. Participants will also learn practical ways to remember names and create powerful introductions. The course explores influencing skills, building bridges, balancing emotion with facts, sharing opinions through I-messages, disagreeing constructively, and building consensus. Participants will also learn the fundamentals of negotiation, including preparation, opening, bargaining, and closing. Finally, the course focuses on making an impact through powerful first impressions, assessing situations, and being enthusiastic without becoming offensive.
