Communication Strategies Training - That Drive Success

Communication takes place throughout the day, through what we say, how we say it, how well we listen, and even through non-verbal signals. Communication Strategies helps participants understand different communication methods and how to use them more effectively in professional and personal interactions. The course begins with the fundamentals of communication, including how communication takes place and the other factors that influence it. Participants then explore common communication barriers, including language, cultural differences, and differences in time and place. Paraverbal communication focuses on the power of pitch, tone, and speed, while non-verbal communication explores body language and interpreting gestures. Participants will learn the STAR approach—Situation, Task, Action, Result—for communicating clearly and effectively. The course also develops listening skills through active listening and sending positive signals to others. Questioning skills cover open, closed, and probing questions. Participants will then explore Appreciative Inquiry, including its purpose and four stages, followed by mastering conversations through general topics, sharing ideas and perspectives, personal experiences, and networking. The course concludes with advanced communication skills, including understanding precipitating factors, establishing common ground, and using "I" messages.
