Social Intelligence: Strengthen Workplace Awareness & Relationships

Strong social skills can help people communicate more effectively, understand others, and create positive connections. Social Intelligence focuses on understanding your environment and using that understanding to have a positive influence in social situations. Participants will begin by increasing self-awareness through reducing self-deception, asking for feedback, being open to change, and reflecting on their actions. The course then explores empathy through listening and paying attention, avoiding judgment, shifting perspectives, and responding authentically. Active listening is developed through attunement, avoiding assumptions, shifting focus, and recognizing the importance of other people's feelings. Participants will also explore insight into behavior, including perception, facts versus emotion, online communication, and paying closer attention to what people say and do. Interpersonal communication covers respect, trust, consistency, maintaining composure, and observing body language. Participants will then learn to recognize social situations and interpret verbal and non-verbal cues, including eyes, personal space, and different levels of social signals. The course concludes with conversation skills, body language, communicating with power, and building rapport through taking the high road, focusing on others, remembering people, and asking good questions.
