Participants then explore how to build a hiring strategy by understanding company information, salary ranges, top performers, and the importance of being prepared. The course covers attracting strong candidates by advertising in the right places, developing corporate citizenship, treating candidates well, and understanding the competition. Participants will also explore filtering applicants through cover letters, resumes, internet searches, and initial phone interviews. Interviewing is addressed through introductions, panel interviews, job-specific interviews, question types, multiple interviews, and minimizing distractions. The selection process then covers testing, passion and enthusiasm, background checks, education versus experience, consensus, references, and keeping qualified non-hires on file. Finally, participants will explore making timely and creative offers, communicating with rejected candidates, and creating a welcoming onboarding experience through training, orientation, mentoring, and 30, 60, and 90 day reviews.
